When you’re forced to slow down and isolate (read: Covid), you learn a lot. Being alone for days on end isn’t ideal but its necessary and its another avenue to discover your inner voice, where is your compass pointing? What do you need in this moment? How will you re-plenish? Nourish yourself? Is it rest, a snack, a favorite beverage? The first day it was junk food them a deliberate turn towards more nourishing soups, greens. A cherry Coke. Basking in the sun sans sunscreen. Dishy summer coming-of-age series. Chinese herbs. Baths. And cleaning rituals including every stitch of bedding and smudging with both Sage and Palo Santo. Comfy clothes. Mascara and jewelry and a little retail therapy. Conversations with my loves. And taking time for gratitude, even when still testing positive and not feeling 100%.
